Todarodes Squid

Todarodes squid, scientifically known as Todarodes pacificus, is also called Japanese flying squid or North Pacific squid. It is mainly distributed in the Northwest Pacific, including the Sea of Japan, the Yellow Sea, and the East China Sea. It has a long, conical body with a distinctive black band on its back. The meat is firm, elastic, and delicious. As one of the earliest squid species to be commercially exploited on a large scale, the true squid has substantial annual catches. It is widely used in sashimi, sushi, grilled squid, and dried squid products.
