Sardines

Sardines are small, silver, elongated fish belonging to the genera Sardina, Sardinops, and Sardinella of the herring family (Clupeidae). They typically measure 15-30 cm in length and weigh 85-175 grams. These warm-water pelagic fish inhabit coastal waters, feed on plankton, and live in dense schools. Sardines are rich in protein and Omega-3 fatty acids, making them highly nutritious. As one of the world's most important commercial fish species, they are widely used for fresh consumption, canning, and fishmeal production.
