Barramundi

Barramundi, scientifically known as Decapterus maruadsi (also referred to as Japanese Jack Mackerel), is a warm-water pelagic fish of the family Carangidae. It has a spindle-shaped, slightly compressed body with a blue-grey back and silvery-white belly, featuring a distinct black spot near the upper corner of the gill cover. The meat is firm and delicious, rich in protein and minerals. Widely distributed in the South China Sea, East China Sea, and Yellow Sea, it is an economically important fish in coastal regions of Southeast China, often processed into salted dried products or consumed fresh.
